The multifunctional building of Melantrich is situated in the very centre of Prague, on the Wenceslas Square. The building that was built at the start of the 20th century in the late Art Noveau style for the Czech National Social Party boasts rich history. The building is named after the notable Czech publisher of Renaissance era Jiří Melantrich of Aventinum and it witnessed publishing of the party pamphlets of the Czechoslovak Socialist Party but also the Václav Havel´s speech to the demonstrators participating in the events of the Velvet Revolution in 1989.
